EFICUR Antibacterial in injectable suspension. Composition per ml: Ceftiofur (as hydrochloride), 50 mg. oil based vehicle qs. ad 1 ml. Indications: Infections associated with bacteria sensitiveto ceftiofur. Swine: Treatment of bacterial respiratory disease associated with Pasteurella multocida, Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia and Strepococcus suis. Cattle: Treatment of bacterialrespiratory disease associated with Mannheimia haemolytica (former Pasteurella haemolytica), Pasteurella multocida and Haemolphilus somnus. Treatment of acute interdigital necrobacillosis( panaritiu, foot rot) associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides melaninogenicus (Porphyromonas asaccharolytica). Treatment of the bacterial component of acute postpartum(puerperal) metritis within 10 days after calving associated with Escherichia coli, Arcanobacterium pyogenes and Fusobacterium necrophorum. Dosage for each species, routes and methodsof administration: Swine: 3 mg ceftiofur/kg bw/day for 3 days by intramuscular route, i.e. 1 ml of EFICUR/16 kg bw/day. Cattle: Treatment of respiratory disease: 1 mg of ceftiofur/kg bw/dayfor 3 to 5 days by subcutaneous injection, i.e. 1 ml EFICUR/ 50 Kg bw/ day. Treatment of acute interdigital necrobacilloses: 1 mg ceftiofur/kg bw/day for 3 days by subcutaneous injection, i.e.1 ml EFICUR/ 50 Kg bw/ day. Acute postpartum metritis within 10 days after calving: 1 mg of ceftiofur/kg bw./day for 5 consecutive days by subcutaneous injection, i.e. 1 ml EFICUR/50 kgbw/day. Subsequent injections must be given at different sites. In the case of acute post-partum metritis, additional supportive therapy might be required. Withdrawal period: Swine:Meatand offal: 8 days. Cattle: Meat and offal: 8 days Milk: 0 days. Special storage precautions: Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Do not store above 25ºC. Shelf-life after first openingthe container 28 days. Shake the bottle well before use to bring the product back into suspension. Packagings: Box with one bottle of 100 ml. Box with 1 bottle of 250 ml with protector.
