Neomastipra Lac

NEOMASTIPRA PROFITABILITY SHEET

When choosing a suitable intramammary product for clinical mastitis treatment in a farm, the decision has often to be done quickly because usually there is no time to culture milk samples and perform a sensitivity test. For these reasons, there are some considerations that have to be taken into account:

  1. The chosen product has to be somewhat containing strong antibiotic composition and with a wide range of action against different bacteria. These characteristics will determine its effectiveness.
  2. The active ingredients contained in the product must be rapidly released from excipients and have to be liposoluble enough, in order to ensure its dispersion to all the mammary gland.
  3. Finally, but not less important, the product has to be rapidly eliminated after the last milking. This characteristic is close related to its chemical composition and ensures a minimum withdrawal period.
Presentación

The objectives of an antibiotic intramammary treatment are, always, to return the infected quarter and milk to normality,  eliminate the bacteria responsible of mastitis, prevent  injuries to the glandular tissues and guarantee cow’s future milk yield while reducing the Somatic Cell Count (SCC).

These objectives have to be achieved economically, avoiding undesirable residues in milk or meat. Veterinarian should be the responsible for choosing suitable treatment protocols to improve cow recovery, optimize farmer’s net profit and protect the consumer against non authorized residues.

The presence of these residues or inhibitors in bulk milk is a critical point to be controlled, because it can result in a significant fine or, what is worse, with the obligation to discard the bulk tank milk.

Using a product with a minimum withdrawal period, as well as reducing the risk of accidental contamination on bulk tank milk, represents an important economic saving thanks to a minimum  amount of milk that will be discarded.

Cálculo de rentabilidad

The Neomastipra Profitability Sheet is an Hipra’s tool that enables users to calculate how the application of Neomastipra Lac, a high efficacy product with a minimum withdrawal period, becomes much more economically profitable than other treatments.s.
