In-ovo vaccination in commercial broilers is a growing trend worldwide due to the advance it represents in the automation of the vaccination process. The large production volumes managed by broiler hatcheries and the advantage of individual vaccination and dosage make this route of administration the most preferable under current management conditions.
Additionally, in line with the One Health strategy for reducing antimicrobial resistance, the use of vaccines against coccidiosis in commercial broilers is increasing due to their ability to reduce resistance and to control the Eimeria field challenge.
As a result, new vaccines against avian coccidiosis, attenuated by precociousness, specifically developed for in-ovo administration, are becoming a good option for the control of this disease.
