The “Theoretical and Practical Course on Gumboro” took place on 16th and 17th May at Nong Lam University in Ho Chi Minh City. Forty five poultry veterinarians from four different Asian countries (Philippines, Indonesia, India and Vietnam) took part in the course.

The objective of this course was to improve knowledge on this highly prevalent disease and to share the latest developments in diagnosis as well as to design control programmes for proper disease prevention.

The session was opened by Dr. Nguyen Lam Vu (Technical and Marketing Manager at HIPRA Vietnam) and then Prof. Dr Nguyen Tat Toan (Vice principal of Nong Lam University) gave a presentation on IBD and the situation in Vietnam and in some other Asian countries.

The session continued with talks by Dr. Michelle Woodward (Global Product Manager at HIPRA) and Dr. Ong Shyong Wey (Regional Technical and Marketing Manager at HIPRA), who gave presentations on updated control programmes and IBD diagnosis. There was also a practical session in which the participants were provided with HIPRA necropsy kits to complete the necropsy training session.

With this new edition, HIPRA reaffirms its constant commitment to training in the control and prevention of  Gumboro disease in Animal Health.
