HIPRA organized a PRRS HIPRA University course entitled “Together against PRRS” that took place on 6th February last in Dublin.

More than 50 attendees from Ireland and the UK took part in the course, which focused on the need for a global approach in order to control the disease.

Enric Mateu, PRRS researcher at the UAB (Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona) chaired a round table where the most interesting and novel topics relating to PRRS were discussed, for example the benefits of the intradermal route, how to improve farm productivity by vaccination of piglets or the relevance of recombinations in the emergence of new outbreaks of PRRS.

It was a dynamic workshop where those attending were able to participate actively and exchange experiences.

This course forms part of the HIPRA University continuing education programme, that offers training solutions for veterinarians and farmers.

Thanks to this type of initiative, UNISTRAIN® PRRS, with the support of the HIPRA swine technical team, strengthens its position as leader in prevention in both animal health and PRRS disease.
