Evaluation of the field efficacy and safety of a Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae vaccine in finishing pigs

When looking at the aetiology of porcine respiratory complex (PRC) during the growing and fattening period it is evident that the worldwide picture is of great concern. There is evidently a general immunosuppression of the pulmonary system caused mainly by the infection of several viruses, bacteria and mycotoxins which predispose the animals to other primary or secondary pathogens producing combinations of several pathogens.

Ringkasan

The results showed that the vaccine provoked neither fever (p ≥ 0.05), nor local reaction although two piglets did vomit 30 min. after vaccination. Significant differences were found when evaluating the productive parameters between groups. Group 0ne presented a significant reduction (p < 0.00001) of the pulmonary lesions attributed to M. hyopneumoniae compared with Group Two.
