Outstanding week at the World Buiatrics Congress

Four years after the last major global ruminant event (NMC Milano 2018), HIPRA brought together its customers and subsidiary teams for the World Buiatrics Congress held in Madrid from September 4th to 8th.

Postponed for two years due to the pandemic, the WBC was the perfect setting to 'reconnect' in a week with plenty of technical training sessions and events that highlighted one of HIPRA's top priorities: being, more than ever, a trusted partner for its customers.

The IFEMA Palacio Municipal was the main venue for the busiest WBC ever done so far with more than 3000 people from 74 different countries. Under the 'HEALTH CENTRICITY' motto present in all HIPRA's activities during the week, many HIPRA University sessions were organized. Antibiotic reduction, the role of IBR vaccination in eradication schemes or the positive impact of mastitis vaccination were some of the topics discussed.

Likewise, a group of experts in bovine immunology such as Chris Chase, Sofie Piepers or Amelia Woolums among others, participated in a session where the digital version of  a 'Bovine Immunity' the recently launched book for field veterinarians made by HIPRA, was released.

Beyond the activity in the Congress and a crowded booth that was filled to the brim over three intense days, HIPRA organized three further events in Madrid, among which 'Meet the Beef' stood out, a new concept focused on beef tasting.

A team of expert butchers and researchers explained, in a didactic, friendly and informative way, the ageing process of beef meat and how its organoleptic properties are conferred. A show driven by a moderator that HIPRA’s clients and teams did enjoy.

A private visit to the Reina Sofía Museum with roof-dinner included and a final farewell party put the finishing touch to a week ‘full of emotions’.
