Coccidiosis vaccination in commercial broilers is an increasingly trend worldwide. This shift is primarily driven by the improved and more efficient productive performance achieved with attenuated coccidiosis vaccines, whether in continuous or rotational strategies, compared to relying solely on anticoccidial drugs.
Moreover, there is a growing focus on the One Health strategy and the Non-Antibiotic-Ever movement, which aim to reduce antibiotic use, including certain anticoccidial drugs with antibiotic effects, in poultry production.
As a result, new vaccines for avian coccidiosis, attenuated by precociousness, developed for spray or in-ovo administration, are becoming a good alternative for controlling this challenging disease.
