Experiences Challenge: PRRS Control

Background:

Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) continues to be one of the greatest health challenges for swine production worldwide. Despite progress in biosecurity and management, the virus still causes substantial economic losses.

In this context, vaccination with modified live vaccines (MLVs) has become an essential tool for PRRS control, thanks to their ability to elicit broad immune responses.

UNISTRAIN® PRRS, developed by HIPRA, is a modified live vaccine designed to provide effective protection against PRRS viruses. With the Experiences Challenge: PRRS CONTROL, we aim to showcase real field experiences that demonstrate the impact of this vaccine.

Objective:

The objective of this Scientific Challenge is to collect and recognize the best field experiences using the UNISTRAIN® PRRS vaccine, administered either intramuscularly or intradermally with Hipradermic® (HIPRA) for PRRS control.

The four most relevant case studies will be selected for presentation at the 2027 American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) Congress in Orlando (USA), giving the authors the opportunity to share their results with the international scientific community, either through a poster or an oral presentation.

How to participate:

Open to veterinarians and professionals in the swine sector. Participants may rely on the technical, diagnostic, and statistical analysis support of HIPRA and its local teams.

Submit your poster together with the collected data before July 15th, 2026 to: global.swine@hipra.com indicating as subject Experiences Challenge: PRRS CONTROL.
